The General Overseer of Living Faith Church (Winner’s Chapel) has supported the move made by the government to regulate the activity of social media in the country.
David Oyedepo who was speaking at the convocation of the Landmark University, Omu Aran, Kwara State, stated that social media had stolen a lot of time from the youth such that most youth could not think and plan for the future.
According to him, “It unconsciously robs people of their future by robbing them of their time — no time to think; no time to plan; no time to programme.
“This generation may lose her heroes to social media disaster. Here is one creeping serpent that is eating up the destinies of many individuals.”
However, the Chancellor charged that every youth should wake up from their slumber from the addiction to social media.
Recall that the Minister for Information, Lai Mohammed has asked that the Federal lawmakers make amendment of the National Broadcasting Commission Act (NBC) so that all social media activities will be regulated by the Commission.
